911 Information
All properties with resident structures (mobile or fixed) in the Loring, Port Loring District must have a 911 civic address number with signage. This 911 sign must be installed to bylaw specifications to expedite emergency services, install electricity, Bell phone lines or get an MOE certification for septic systems. All properties that are found not to have a valid, registered civic address with approved signage will be charged initial startup costs and may incur additional service fee’s determined by the LSB and their sub-contractors.
All lane-ways are numbered by metered calculations and registered with Global Positioning Co-ordinates (Longitude & Latitude).
To get a 911 number you must contact the LSB in writing and include your property description, parcel #, Lot# & Concession#, township, a brief description of where your laneway/ water access point is and ALONG with a cheque for $200. This money is used to cover the costs of having your laneway/ water access metered, entered into the Emergency Services Civic Addressing database, logged with Bell Canada 911 services, have the sign made up by a certified supplier and installed by a sub-contractor. Metering and recording will take place with 30 days of receiving your cheque (depending on seasonal accessibility). You will be notified of your civic address number and name. Bell 911 will be notified of the new address and should then be ready for your phone installation. MOE or Hydro One will not install your services until the number has been made valid in the 911 database.
Sign orders are placed twice per year with our supplier and installed during the spring/summer months by sub-contractors.
